Manchester - Multiple Traffic Notices
What is happening?
Manchester City Council made the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The title and effect of the Orders are as follows:
City of Manchester Princess Street, City Centre) (Prescribed Route Amendment) Order 2023 Ahead Only except tramcars, cycles and buses from Princess St into John Dalton St The title of the following order title has been changed from City of Manchester (Princess Street, City Centre) (Bus Gate) Order 2023 to City of Manchester (Princess Street, City Centre) (Bus Lane) Order 2023.
Prohibition of driving on Princess St, eastbound traffic from its junction with Cross St to its junction with Clarence St. The following proposal has been abandoned:
City of Manchester (King Street and Cross Street, City Centre) (Prohibition of Driving and Revocations) Order 2022. Prohibition of Driving except tramcars, buses and cycles on Cross St, the south-east side from its junction with King St to its junction with Town Hall Lane.
The orders come into operation on 1 July 2023. Copies of the Orders together with the plans may be inspected by appointment at the Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between 9am and 4.30pm on Mon to Friday.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within 6 weeks from 23 June 2023 apply to the High Court for such purpose
