Garrowby Road, Bishop Wilton - Temporary Traffic Prohibition
What is happening?

(PART OF GARROWBY ROAD, BISHOP WILTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any
vehicle to proceed along Garrowby Road, Bishop Wilton
between its junctions with Main Street and Vicarage Lane.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed tree
felling / pruning for overhead powerlines works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the
works will be completed on 3 July 2023.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is
via the remainder of Garrowby Road, Garrowby Street,
Garrowby Hill, York Road, Fridaythorpe Road, Main Road,
The Balk, Givendale Hill, Swineridge Lane,
Grimthorpe Lane, The Mile, Mill Farm Access Road,
Meltonby Road, Pocklington Lane and Park Lane Close.
The road will be open at all times to pedestrians, residents
and for emergency services. The Order will commence on
3 July 2023 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry
out have been completed, whichever is earlier.
