TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the footways listed in the schedule below for their entire length. The Order is required to allow for the installation of fibre cabling. The order will come into force on 17th July 2023. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that each section of footway will be closed on one occasion and for approximately two days duration. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the footways listed in the schedule below for their entire length (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout.
Schedule - South Avenue; North Avenue; The Drive; Coverdale Avenue; Coach Road Estate; Heworth Road.
