TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING & LOADING 2023

Notice is hereby given that on 22 June 2023 South Tyneside Council made an Order
under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit waiting and loading on the following sections of road: Beach Road, South Shields, south-east kerb line from its junction with Bents Park Road to its junction with A183 Sea Road 248 metres. The Order is required to assist in maintaining the free flow of traffic and access for emergency vehicles during the
Summer Festival Events. The Order will come into force on the 06 July 2023. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 months. However, it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed on Sundays throughout July 2023. All vehicles except those engaged in the event or emergency vehicles, will be prohibited from Waiting / Loading on the length of road described above. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic cones / signs.
