ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FOR RESURFACING WORKS AND CARRIAGEWAY MAINTENANCE – ELTHAM AREA, GREENWICH AREA AND WOOLWICH AREA

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Greenwich intends to make three Orders to accommodate carriageway resurfacing works or carriageway maintenance under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The effect of the Order would be to temporarily: a) prohibit vehicles from entering, exiting, proceeding or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading) in the roads or lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. b) remove the one-way system from Indus Road to accommodate traffic diverted whilst the closure of Shooters Hill Road is in effect.3. The above restrictions would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing or covering of the appropriate traffic signs.4. Whilst the closures are in operation, vehicular access to properties affected by these works would be maintained wherever possible subject to the extent and operations of the works. Alternative routes for diverted vehicles would be available via local roads and would be indicated via local signage.5. The Order would come into force on 13th July 2023 and would continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works would be conducted on a ‘rolling’ programme and, as such, not all the restrictions stated in paragraph 2 would be in force in all the effected roads. 6.
