What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BACK MOUNT STREET, CHORLEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Back Mount Street, Chorley from its junction with Mealhouse Lane to its junction with Park Road.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Monday 10th July 2023 until 1700 hours on Friday 21st July 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Farrington Street – Queens Road – Park Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new cable installation works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity Northwest.
