What is happening?

Essex County Council
(Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment 17) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 9, 10, 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:
1. To revoke ‘Pay & Display Mon-Sat 8am-6pm Max Stay 2 Hours No Return within 2 Hours Restriction on the following Length of road in the Borough of Brentwood.

Road - Description
B185 Kings Road, Brentwood West Side: from a point approximately 28 metres, southeast of its junction with Chatham Way, south easterly for a distance of approximately 76 metres.

2. To Implement Pay & Display Mon-Sat 8am-6pm Max Stay 2 Hours No Return within 2 Hours Restriction on the following length of road in the Borough of Brentwood.

Road - Description
B185 Kings Road, Brentwood West Side: from at point approximately 43 metres, southeast of its junction with Chatham Way, South easterly. For a distance of approximately 41 metres.

3. To Implement ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions on the following length of road in the Borough of Brentwood.

Road - Description
B185 Kings Road, Brentwood West Side: from a point approximately 28 metres, southeast of its junction with Chatham Way, south easterly for a distance of approximately 15 metres.

B185 Kings Road, Brentwood West Side: from a point approximately 85 metres, southeast of its junction with Chatham Way, south easterly for a distance of approximately 20 metres

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting tile number TQ590 932 Rev 0 for Rev 1 and TQ590 935 Rev 0 for Rev 1.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 06 July 2023.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Doddinghurst Road, Brentwood)
(Charity Fund Raising Triathlon Event) (Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order to facilitate the Brentwood Charity Fundraising Triathlon Event.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Doddinghurst Road, Brentwood, in the Borough of Brentwood, from the Brentwood Centre to its junction with Hatch Road, approximately 600 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 02 July 2023 for 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:30 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Brentwood Charity Fundraising Triathlon Event.

The alternative route will be via A128 Ongar Road, Blackmore Road and vice versa.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The Order will come into effect on 02 July 2023 may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.

(Ongar Road, Stondon Massey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ongar Road, Stondon Massey in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 710m northwest of its junction with Chivers Road for a distance of approximately 310m in a northwesterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th July 2023 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA81575140RC – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Ongar Road, Stondon Road, Brentwood Road, Ongar Road, Blackmore Road, Hook End Road, Hook End Lane, Tipps Cross Lane, Ongar Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th July 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Borough of Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of a 30mph Speed Limit) (No.5) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit on those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood as specified in the schedule to this Order.

3. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

“The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 5th July 2023, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Weald Road, Brentwood) (Temporary Introduction of a Directional Lane Closure) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Weald Road, Brentwood (Northbound Only) in the Borough of Brentwood, from both of its junctions with High Street to its junction with Western Road a distance of approximately 45m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th July 2023 for 2 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EN01362227 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Kings Road, Queens Road, Coptfold Road, Ingrave Road, Shenfield Road, Ongar Road, Ongar Road Roundabout, Western Avenue, Western Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th July 2023 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
