TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER NUMBER 2 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that:-
Northumberland County Council have made an Order to hereby revoke the temporary traffic regulation order known as:-
A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge To Woodhorn Roundabout/Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge/Spine Road Annitsford to Moor Farm (Temporary Road Closure) Order dated 4th April 2023. Ref: 132355522. The Revocation Order will come into force at 23:59 hours on 25th June 2023.
Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order which is to be effective from the 26th June 2023 until 26th December 2024 and hereby introduces road closures on the following lengths of highway:
Section 1 From 350 metres north of Three Horse Shoes Roundabout to the Moor Farm Roundabout for a distance of 5000 metres. Phase 2
It is expected that the works will take place from the 5th August 2023 to 6th August 2023 between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A192, B1505 and vice-versa.
Section 2a From the Moor Farm Roundabout heading south for a distance of 950 metres Phase 2:
It is expected that the works will be take place from the 12th August 2023 to 13th August 2023 between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the U9567,B1319 and vice-versa.
Section 2b From 150 metres north of Bebside Roundabout to 220 metres south of Three Horse Shoes Roundabout for a distance of 3350 metres Phase 2:
It is expected that the works will take place from the 12th August 2023 to 13th August 2023 between 20:00 hours and 06:00 however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A193 B1505 and vice-versa.
Section 3 North Seaton Roundabout heading south for a distance of 4160 metres Phase 2:
It is expected that the works will take place between 19th August 2023 to 20th August 2023 between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1334, A196 A1147 and vice-versa
Section 4a From Sleekburn Grange Farm to 150 metres south of the Bebside Roundabout for a distance of 1250 metres Phase 2:
It is expected that the works will take place from 26th August 2023 to 27th August 2023 between 23:00 hours and 04:00 hours however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
Section 4b Woodhorn Roundabout to the North Seaton Roundabout Phase 2
It is expected that the works will take place from the 26th August 2023 to 27th August 2023 between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours however, the order will remain in place until 26th December 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the A197 B1334 and vice-versa
Northumberland County Council Intends to make an Order which is to beeffective from the 26th June 2023 until 26th December 2024 andhereby introduces speed restrictions on the following lengths of highway:
A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge from 70 mph down to 50 mph starting from its point 2,424 metres north of its junction with A19T Moor Farm Roundabout to Seaton Burn Roundabout heading northwards for a distance of 2,883 metres.
A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge from 70 mph down to 30 mph starting from its point 623 metres north of its junction with A189 Three Horse Shoes roundabout heading northwards for a distance of 2733 metres.
A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Roundabout from 70 mph down to 30 mph starting from its point 216 metres south of A189/A1147 Northbound slip road heading northwards for a distance of 837 metres.
A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Roundabout from 70 mph down to 50 mph starting from its point 85 metres north of A189 Northbound Entry Slip road heading northwards for a distance of 2,228 metres.
A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Roundabout from 70 mph down to 50 mph starting from its point 1,228 metres south of its junction with A189 North Seaton Roundabout heading southwards for a distance of 2,228 metres.
A189 Spine Road Kitty Brewster Bridge to Woodhorn Roundabout from 70 mph down to 30 mph from its point 320 metres south of A189 West/East Sleekburn Southbound Exit Slip road heading southwards for a distance of 940 metres.
A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge 70 mph down to 30 mph from its point 357 metres south of A189/B1331 Exit Slip road heading southwards for a distance of 2,668 metres.
A189 Spine Road Moor Farm to Kitty Brewster Bridge 70 mph down to 50 mph from its point 311 metres north of A192 Southbound Exit Slip road heading southwards for a distance of 2,862 metres.
It is expected that the speed restrictions will be in force at all times from the 26th June 2023 until the 26th December 2024.
The Order is to be effective from the 26th June 2023 until 26th December 2024.

The road closure and speed restrictions have been requested by Northumberland County Council for Cyclic Maintenance and Morgan Sindall to construct a new cycle foot bridge over the A189. Works include ground investigation, ground securing, abutment works and bridge construction and erection. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
