St Hilda Street - Temporary Prohibition of Driving Order
What is happening?
SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(ST HILDA STREET, SOUTH SHIELDS) ORDER 2023
On 14 June 2023 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order, which comes into operation on 30 June 2023 will REVOKE No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on St Hilda St north side from its junction with Charlotte St westwards for 17m and south side from its junction with Fowler St/Charlotte St link road in a westerly direction for 6m and from a point 12m west of its junction with Fowler St/Charlotte St link road for 6m.
REVOKE No Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm on St Hilda St north side from a point 24m east of the east kerbline of Garden Lane eastwards to a point 28m west of the west kerbline of Charlotte St, from a point 24m west of the west kerbline of Charlotte St eastwards to a point 17m west of the west kerbline of Charlotte St and from a point 21m west of the east kerbline of Garden Lane to a point 6m east of the east kerbline of Garden Lane. REVOKE Limited Waiting 2 hours, no return within 2 hours Mon-Sat 8am-6pm on St Hilda St, the north side from a point 24m west of the west
kerbline of Charlotte St westwards for 5m and which has a width throughout of 2.3 metres and from a point 6m east of the east kerbline of Garden Lane eastwards for 18m and which has a width throughout of 2.3 metres.
REVOKE Disabled Persons Parking Mon-Sat 1 hour, no return within 2 hours on St Hilda St the south side from a point 6m west of its junction with Fowler St/Charlotte St link road in a westerly direction for 6m.
The Order will also: INTRODUCE No Waiting At Any Time on St Hilda St north side from its junction with Charlotte St south-westwards for 10m and from its junction with Garden Lane north-eastwards for 10m; south side from its junction with Charlotte St south-westwards to its junction with Garden Lane. INTRODUCE No Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm on St Hilda St north side from a point 25m northeast of its junction with Garden Lane north
eastwards for 18m. INTRODUCE No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on St Hilda St north side from its junction with Charlotte St south-westwards for 10m and from its junction with Garden Lane north-eastwards for 10m; south side from its junction with Charlotte St south-westwards for 10m and from its junction with Garden Lane north-eastwards for 10m. INTRODUCE Limited Waiting 2 hours, no return within 2 hours Mon-Sat 8am-6pm on St. Hilda St, the north side from a point 10m south-west of its junction with Charlotte St south-westwards for 31m and from a point 10m north-east of its junction with Garden Lane north eastwards for 14m.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 14 June 2023 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
