What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL (MILE END ROAD AREA, SOUTH SHIELDS
ORDER 2) ORDER 2023

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to: REVOKE No Waiting At Any Time on Mile End Rd west side from its junction with Queen St in a southerly direction for 2m and Prohibition of Driving except for access on Mile End Rd from its junction with Stanhope Rd and Queen St in a southerly
direction for its remaining length. AMEND No Waiting At Any Time on Salem St east side from its junction with Queen St in a northerly direction for 11m and Mile End Rd west side from its junction with Queen St in a southerly direction for 27m then easterly for 8m. AMEND No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on Salem St east side from its junction with Queen St in a northerly direction for 11m, Mile End Rd west side from its junction with Queen St in a southerly direction for 27m then easterly for 8m and Queen St south side from a point 115m in a westerly, southerly, easterly, southerly and westerly direction of its junction with Mile End Rd for 99m in a westerly direction. INTRODUCE Loading Only on Brigham Place east side from its junction with Stanhope St in a northerly direction for 12m; Disabled Persons Parking Place 3 hours no return within 2 hours on Salem St the east side from a point 11m north of
its junction with Queen St northwards for 12m and No Entry on Mile End Rd southwards from its junction with Queen St and Stanhope Rd.
Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with plans showing the relevant areas and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below. If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations
about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the Council’s Legal Services Department at the address below or by email to the address above by 12 July 2023. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
