Public Footpaths In Farington - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 0704007 & 0704024 FARINGTON, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH
AND A NON DEFINITIVE ROUTE TO WHICH THE PUBLIC HAVE ACCESS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpaths indicated below:-

That part of Footpath 0704007 Farington, South Ribble, from Point A (SD 3534 – 4233) near to Mill Lane, in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 260 metres to Point D (SD 3536 – 4234), and continuing in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 170 metres to Point E (SD 3538 – 4234). Then in a generally east, south easterly direction for approximately 150 metres to Point B (SD 3539 – 4234).

That part of Footpath 0704024 Farington, South Ribble, from Point C (SD 3537 – 4233) in a generally northerly direction for approximately 140 metres to Point D (SD 3536 – 4234).

A Non Definitive Route to which the Public have Access from Point E (SD 3538 – 4234) in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 160 metres to Point F (SD 3539 – 4234).

The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works

The Order will be operative from the 17th June, 2023, until the 30th September, 2023, or until the works are completed within this period.
