Studland, Temporary Closure Of Footpath Due To Health And Safety Regulations
What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 22/1, Studland
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath SE22/1, Studland from grid reference SZ036 828 (point A on the map below) to grid reference SZ 036 830 (Point B on map below) a distance of approximately 160 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 June 2023 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This Notice is required due to safety concerns as erosion is causing the cliff edge to collapse.
