Flimby, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Bridge Repair Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 244030 IN THE PARISH OF MARYPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a damaged bridge and to allow repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 8 metre section of Public Footpath No. 244030 at Flimby in the Parish of Maryport between Grid References: 302048 533783 and 302046 533778. There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians. This follows an emergency notice dated 12 May 2023.

The Order will come into operation on 2 June 2023 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. It is anticipated that the Order will be required for 6 months.
