Aynam Road, Temporary Change In Speed Restrictions Due To Flood Aviation Works
What is happening?

(A65 AYNAM ROAD, KENDAL) (TEMPORARY 10 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable VolkerStevin Infrastructure Ltd. to carry out flood alleviation works ("the Works), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 10 miles per hour along that section of the A65 Aynam Road, Kendal, from its junction with New Road extending in a southerly direction to its junction to Lound Road.
No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 17th June 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 7 months and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
