What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, EDINBURGH) (RESTRICTIONS AND PROHIBITIONS ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) AND (BUS PRIORITY MEASURES) (NO. 1) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC ORDER 2023 – ETRO/23/13

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended to introduce by way of an experiment; waiting restrictions on Captain’s Rd, Drum St and Newtoft St that operate 24hrs of each day; daytime waiting restrictions and loading prohibitions on Captain’s Rd, Duddingston Park Sth and Howden Hall Rd that operate Mondays to Fridays inclusive during the hours of 7:30am to 9:30am and 4:00pm to 6:30pm; waiting restrictions and loading prohibitions on Duddingston Park Sth that operate 24hrs of each day; and bus lanes on (A8) Glasgow Rd (Gogar Underpass), (A89) Edinburgh Rd (Newbridge), Captain’s Rd, Duddingston Park Sth and Howden Hall Rd that operate Mondays to Fridays inclusive during the hours of 7:30am to 9:30am and 4:00pm to 6:30pm. Details of the Order and related documents, including our privacy notice, can be viewed free of charge either at Waverley Court Reception between 9:30 & 15:30 Mon-Fri, or online from 12/06/2023 to 11/12/2023 at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/trafficorders and www. tellmescotland.gov.uk. The Order will come into effect on 12/06/2023. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of the Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation. Objectors must state their reasons in writing with reference ETRO/23/13 to Traffic Orders, Place, Waverley Court, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG, or by email to TRO.consultations@ edinburgh.gov.uk, not later than 11/12/2023.

Objections should state the name and address of the objector. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any particular location/s or element/s of the proposals, it would be helpful if you could identify those in your response.

Should this Order be varied by another experimental order or otherwise modified, there will be a further period of six months during which objections will be invited, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force.
