What is happening?

C224 Frenches Road, Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C224 Frenches Road, Redhill that extends from the north-eastern side of its roundabout junction with D1261 Ladbroke Road, to the western side of its junction with D1261 Wiggie Lane. This Traffic Order is required to enable I & A Communications Limited and/or BT Openreach to carry out poling and/or cabling and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 5pm, within 2 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 June 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Alternative route:- Frenches Road, Ormside Way, New Battlebridge Lane, London Road and Frenches Road.
D2530 Westhumble Street, Westhumble – Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of D2530 Westhumble Street, Westhumble – Dorking (3.5t weight restriction and 2m width restriction) that is carried by the “Boxhill and Burford Bridge” and for a distance of 25m either side. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable BAM Nuttall Limited to carry out replacement of the road bridge deck and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7:30am and 5pm within 6 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 05 June 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times under direction of operatives on site and/or signs via a temporary footway/stairway and/or rampway/shuttle bus. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the alternative route:- Chapel Lane, Ranmore Common Road, Ranmore Road, Ashcombe Road, London Road and Westhumble Street.
D288 Logmore Lane, Westcott, C57 Smalls Hill Road andC57 Norwood Hill Road, Leigh, Horley and CharlwoodTemporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) That length of D288 Logmore Lane, Westcott that extends from the north-eastern property boundary of “West Lees Farm”, to its junction with D289 Coldharbour Lane. Alternative route:- 1. D288 Wescott Heath, A25 Guildford Road, A25 Westcott Road, A25 West Street (one way), A25 South Street (one way), D2822 Falkland Road and D289 Coldharbour Lane. 2. D289 Coldharbour Lane, D2822 Falkland Road, A25 Vincent Lane (one way), A25 Westcott Road and A25 Guildford Road and D288 Wescott Heath. b) That length of C57 Smalls Hill Road and C57 Norwood Hill Road, Leigh, Horley and Charlwood that extends from the junction with D331 Dean Oak Lane, to the junction with C61 Stan Hill. Alternative route:- C61 Stan Hill, C61 Blanks Lane, C60 Partridge Lane, C59 Broad Lane, C59 Clayhill Road, C59 Newdigate Road, C58 Bunce Common Road and C57 Tapners Road.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway dressing and/or resurfacing and/or improvement and/or highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 1-3 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 04 June 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the diversion routes described above. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Various Roads in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) That length of D310 Trumpets Hill Road, Reigate that extends from the boundary of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council with Mole Valley District Council, to its junction with C58 Flanchford Road (to include both the northern and southern arms of D310 Trumpets Hill Road at the junction with C58 Flanchford Road). Alternative route:- C58 Flanchford Road, C57 Tapners Road, C57 Snowerhill Road, C57 The Street and D310 Wonham Lane. b) That length of D1043 Preston Lane, Tadworth that extends from the eastern side of its junction with D1040 Merland Rise, to the western side of its junction with D1044 Marbles Way. Alternative route:- D1040 Merland Rise, D1044 Preston Manor Road and D1044 Marbles Way. c) The entire length of D558 Haroldslea Drive, Horley. There is no applicable alternative route however access to affected properties will be maintained under direction of site operatives. d) The entire length of D1075 Hempshaw Avenue, Woodmansterne. There is no applicable alternative route however access to affected properties will be maintained under direction of site operatives. e) The entire length of D1075 Prestbury Crescent, Woodmansterne. Alternative route:- D1075 Hempshaw Avenue.

On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) That length of B269 Kent Hatch Road, Limpsfield that extends from the eastern side of its junction with D429 New Road, to the western side of its junction with D436 Ridlands Lane. Alternative route:- B269 Kent Hatch Road, B2026 Hosey Common Road and A25 Westerham Road. b) The entire length of B2028 West Park Road, Newchapel. Alternative route: -. A22 Eastbourne Road, A264 Copthorne Road and B2037 Snow Hill. c) That length of C227 Whyteleafe Hill, Whyteleafe that extends from the northern side of its junction with D1388 Salmons Lane, to the western side of its junction with D1384 Hornchurch Hill. Alternative route:- C227 Whyteleafe Hill, A22 Godstone Road, D1402 Burntwood Lane and C227 Whyteleafe Road. d) The entire length of D1348 Chapel Road, Warlingham.
Alternative route:- D1348 Leas Road, B270 Westhall Road, B269 The Green (following one way system), and B269 Limpsfield Road. e) That length of C83 Tandridge Lane, Tandridge that extends from the south-eastern property boundary of “No.14 Dean Shaw”, to the north-western side of its junction with D421 Southlands Lane. Alternative route:- C83 Tandridge Lane, C86 New Road, C86 Miles Road, A22 Eastbourne Road, A22 Godstone By-Pass, A25 Oxted Road and C83 Tandridge Lane. f) That length of C84 Merle Common Road, Merle Common that extends from the south-eastern property boundary of “Forge End”, to the eastern side of its junction with D424 Holland Road. Alternative route:- C85 Red Lane, D424 Holland Lane and C84 Merle Common Road. g) That length of C67 Church Hill and Nutfield Marsh Road, Nutfield that extends from the junction with A25 Bletchingley Road, to the southern side of the access road to “Peytons Cottages”. Alternative route:- A25 Nutfield High Street, A25 Nutfield Road, D1263 Cormongers Lane and C67 Nutfield Marsh Road. h) The entire length of D1382 Tithepit Shaw Lane, Warlingham. Alternative route:- B270 Hillbury Road, B270 Westhall Road, B269 The Green, B269 Limpsfield Road and D1382 Tithepit Shaw Lane. i) That length of D3197 Coulsdon Road, Caterham that extends from the southern side of its junction with D1397 Stanley Street to the northern side of its junction with D1397 George’s Terrace. Alternative route:- D1397 Coulsdon Road, B2030 Banstead Road, B2030 Town End, B2031 Chaldon Road and D3197 Coulsdon Road. j) That length of A22 Godstone Hill and A22 Godstone Road northbound, Caterham that extends from the northern side of its junction with the “Godstone Interchange”, to the southern side of its junction with B2030 Godstone Road. Alternative route:- A22 Godstone Hill roundabout, A22 Godstone By-Pass, A25 Oxted Road, A25 Godstone High Street, A25 Godstone Road, A25 Bletchingley High Street, A25 Castle Street, A25 Bletchingley Road, A25 Nutfield High Street, A25 Redstone Hill, A23 Princess Way, A23 London Road – Redhill, A23 London Road South – Merstham, A23 Merstham High Street, A23 London Road North – Merstham, A23 Brighton Road – Hooley, A23 Farthing Way – Coulsdon, A23 Brighton Road – Purley Cross, A22 Godstone Road – Kenley, A22 Godstone Road – Whyteleafe and A22 Caterham By-Pass.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway dressing and/or resurfacing and/or improvement and/or highway maintenance works. Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone as extends from its junction with (A22) Eastbourne Road to its junction with (C71) Whitewood Lane and; b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” in its entirety. Alternative Route: (A22) Eastbourne Road, West Park Road, Bone Lane, Croydon Barn Lane, Church Road and Whitewood Lane or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out overhead structural works by or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be completed over 1 day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 June 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times via the operatives on site, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Twelve Acre Close (D2646) Bookham and Spring Grove (D2604) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of:
(a) Twelve Acre Close (D2646) Bookham. Alternative Route: Barn Meadow Lane, Church Road, and Edenside Road or this route in reverse; and (b) Spring Grove (D2604) Fetcham. Alternative Route: Kennel Lane, The Glade, The Copse, Meadow Way, and Eastwick Drive or this route in reverse.
This Order, which will commence on 21 June 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway surfacing and/or major highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to take place as soon as possible over 6 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Horsham Road (A24) Capel Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Horsham Road (A24) Capel as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (C52) Rusper Road and (C52) Wolves Hill to its junction with the county boundary line between Surrey County Council and West Sussex County Council. Alternative Route: (A24) Horsham Road, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) Horsham Northern Bypass, (A281) Broadbridge Heath Bypass, (A281) Guildford Road, (A29) Bognor Road, (A29) Stane Street, (A29) Beare Green, (A29) Ockley Road, and (A24) Capel Bypass. This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance works by or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within 2 weeks of this 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 July 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Belmont Road (D1219) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Belmont Road (D1219) Reigate. Alternative Route: Chart Lane, Furzefield Road, and Cornfield Road or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance works by or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed within 7 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 July 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
