ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Newark in the District of Newark and Sherwood
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
2. Queens Road, Newark - Between its junction with North Gate and Lovers Lane
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 00:01 hours on Tuesday 30th May 2023 until Friday 30th June 2023 or until the works are completed to a maximum of 18 months
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
North Gate - Lincoln Road Bridge - Northern Road - Beacon Hill Road - Sleaford Road - Visa Versa
This Order will come into force on Friday 26th May 2023 and continues the restrictions introduced by the 21-day notice N23-121a which came into force on Tuesday 9th May 2023 for a maximum of 18 months.
The Prohibition is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public due to a sinkhole in the carriageway.
