Chapel Allerton, Temporary Road Closure Due To Unsafe bridge

What is happening?

Somerset County Council Bridleway AX 12/31 (Chapel Allerton) Temporary Restriction of Traffic Order 2017

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of his powers under section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has approved an extension to the above Order for a period of two years from 16 May 2023 to 16 May 2025 or until the completion of the works whichever is earlier. The Order PROHIBITS ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Bridleway AX 12/31 (Allerton Moor Drove) from its junction with Footpath AX 12/13 running south for 850 metres to its junction with footpath AX 12111. This closure is required as there is a danger to the public due to an unsafe bridge. For information about the works being carried out contact Ewan Tweedie on 07816 082531.
