WHITTON VILLAGE - NORTHERN GATEWAY SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act. The Order will have the effect of reducing the speed limit along the length of road specified in Schedule 1 from National (60mph) to 50mph. Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the affected roads and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the Stockton Customer Service Centre, Central Library, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees during normal office hours and on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders). If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to Transport Strategy and Road Safety Manager, Stockton-onTees Borough Council, Community Services, Environment and Culture, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stocktonon-Tees, TS18 1LD or HTD@Stockton.gov.uk by 19 June 2023.
SCHEDULE 1 - Proposed 50mph Speed Limit - Reduction from National (60mph)
Unnamed “C” class link road between Whitton and Stillington - From a point approximately 108 metres northof its junction with Honey Pot Close to a point approximately 28 metres south of its junction with Whitton Lane, a distance of approximately 720 metres.
