A180 Trunk Road - 50 Miles Per Hour Speed Restriction
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A180 TRUNK ROAD (BARNETBY TO BROCKLESBY)
(TEMPORARY 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A628 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Barnsley, to enable replacement of vehicle parapets, installation and removal of temporary edge protection and replacement of safety barrier works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8am on Monday 19 June 2023 for 3 months, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, 24 hours a day, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A180:
(i) eastbound carriageway from 6900 metres east of the entry slip road at Barnetby Interchange to the entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange, a distance of 1800 metres; and
(ii) westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Brocklesby Interchange to 900 metres west of the entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange, a distance of 1750 metres.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles). The Order comes into force on the 18 June 2023 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
