Willow Holme Road, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Scour Protection Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 109078 IN THE CITY OF CARLISLE AND FOOTPATH LINKING WILLOW HOLME ROAD AND SHEEPMOUNT, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Story Contracting to carry out scour protection works ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along:
An approx. 84 metre section of Public Footpath No 109078 in the City of Carlisle between Grid References: 339346 556508 and 339337 556429; and
A section of footpath (known as Caldew Viaduct footpath), which extends in a north easterly direction for approx. 166 metres, from Willow Holme Road to Grid Reference: 339337 556429, and which links Footpath No. 109078 with Willow Holme Road There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.

The Order will come into operation on 5 June 2023 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 4 months.
