What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 114005 IN THE PARISH OF DALSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a damaged bridge and to allow repairs to be carried Out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the whole length of Public Footpath No. 114005 in the Parish of Dalston, from its junction with U2048 near Bellgate, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with U1135 near Cardew Hall.

There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.

This follows an emergency notice dated 4 May 2023.

The Order will come into operation on 25 May 2023 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 4 months.
