(TEMPORARY PUBLIC FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
EXTENSION ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State has agreed to extend the closure of Parish of Ancroft Public Footpath No 7, in the County of Northumberland.
The route is described as follows:
From the junction with Public Footpath No 8, 280 metres south-east of Windyridge in an easterly direction for a distance of 605 metres crossing the East Coast Main Line Railway to a point on the U15 road 245 metres south-east of The Lodge.
There is an alternative route available using existing Public Footpath No 8 from the junction with Public Footpath No 7, 280 metres south-east of Windyridge in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 370 metres to join the U15 road 65 metres north-west of Windyridge.
The Order which came into force on 24th October 2022 and which would have expired on 24th April 2023 will continue to be in force until 24th April 2024 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The extension has been requested by Network Rail in the interests of public safety to comply with Network Rail safety standards.
