(TEMPORARY PUBLIC FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
EXTENSION ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State has agreed to extend the closure of Parish of Ancroft Public Footpath No 11, in the County of Northumberland.
The route is described as follows:
From a point on the U17 road 460 metres east of Ladythorne House in an easterly direction for a distance of 780 metres crossing the East Coast Main Line Railway to a point on the east side of Cheswick Level Crossing, 525 metres north-west of Berwick (Goswick) Golf Club.
There are alternative routes available using existing public highways and the Northumberland Coast Path.
The Order which came into force on 24th October 2022 and which would have expired on 24th April 2023 will continue to be in force until 24th April 2024 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The extension has been requested by Network Rail in the interests of public safety to comply with Network Rail safety standards.
