(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE)
Food & Drink Festivals, Mill Street Market, Rutland Pet
Festival, Late Night Shopping and a Traditional Xmas in
Oakham Parish of Oakham CP Order 2023
Rutland County Council District Council (‘the Council’) has
powers under section 16A (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 (‘the Act’) to make traffic regulation orders
affecting the adopted highway within the County of Rutland.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council has made an order entitled
the Rutland County Council District Council (Temporary
Diversion of Vehicular Traffic) Food & Drink Festivals,
Mill Street Market, Rutland Pet Festival, Late Night Shopping
and a Traditional Xmas in Oakham, Parish of Oakham CP
Order 2023 as the Council are satisfied that traffic on the
road should be restricted because multiple public events are
proposed to be held on or near the road.
The effect of the order is that during the dates and
times specified below all vehicles will be prohibited from
proceeding along the lengths of road specified below..
• The length of road known as Mill Street for the distance of
128 metres.
The Closure is for the Mill Street Market and will run from
09:00 to 13:00 on 23rd April 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
• The length of road known as High Street, Church Street,
Market Place and Mill Street for the distance of 891
metres.
The Closure is for the Summer Food and Drink Festival and
will run from 11:00 to 18:00 on 2nd July 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
The diversion route will be via High Street, Westgate, John
Street, New Street, South Street and Mill Street with a
reciprocal route
• The length of road known as Mill Street, Market Place and
High Street for the distance of 438 metres.
The Closure is for the Rutland Food and Drink Festival and
will run from 11:00 to 16:00 on 24th September 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
The diversion route will be via High Street, Westgate, John
Street, New Street, South Street and Catmos Street with a
reciprocal route
• The length of road known as Market Place and Market
Street for the distance of 137 metres.
The Closure is for the Rutland Pet Festival and will run
from 11:00 to 16:00 on 8th October 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
• The length of road known as High Street, Church Street,
Market Place and Mill Street for the distance of 891
metres.
The Closure is for Oakham Late Night Shopping and will
run from 16:00 to 21:00 on 11th December 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
The diversion route will be via High Street, Westgate, John
Street, New Street, South Street and Mill Street with a
reciprocal route
• The length of road known as Market Place and Mill Street
for the distance of 253 metres.
The Closure is for a Traditional Xmas in Oakham and will
run from 11:00 to 16:00 on 17th December 2023
The closure will be continuously enforced during the
period specified.
The diversion route will be via South Street and Catmos
Street with a reciprocal route
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to
adjacent premises will the events are in progress.
The alternative routes during the closures will be via the
routes shown on the attached and as shown on
