What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HODDESDON, HERTFORD, BUNTINGFORD, CHESHUNT, WALTHAM CROSS AND TEWIN) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Rye Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Old Highway south westwards to its junction with Walton Road, a distance of approximately 198m.
An alternative route will be via Old Highway, Rumbold Road and Walton Road.

2. that length of Pauls Lane/Taverners Way, Hoddesdon from its junction with Amwell Street south westwards, southwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 208m.

An alternative route will be via Amwell Street, A1170 (Amwell Street/Dinant Link Road/Charlton Way/High Street), Cock Lane, Park View, Brocket Road and Taverners Way.

3. that length of Windsor Drive, Hertford from its junction with B1000 Welwyn Road north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Holly Croft, a distance of approximately 247m.
An alternative route will be via B1000 Welwyn Road, A119 North Road, Bramfield Road and Windsor Drive.

4. that length of Tudor Way, Hertford from its junction with Windsor Drive north eastwards to its junction with Fleming Crescent, a distance of approximately 42m.
An alternative route will be via Windsor Drive, Holly Croft and Tudor Way.

5. that length of Fleming Crescent, Hertford from its junction with Windsor Drive north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Tudor Way, a distance of approximately 68m.
An alternative route will be via Windsor Drive, Holly Croft and Tudor Way.

6. that length of Calton Avenue, Hertford from its junction with Windsor Drive south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m.
An alternative route will be via Windsor Drive, Bentley Road and Calton Avenue.

7. the road fronting Nos.34-42 Vicarage Road, Buntingford from its junction with Vicarage Road north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

8. that length of Dickins Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Spicersfield north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

9. that length of Abbey Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with A1010 Monarchs Way north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 195m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

10. that length of Lodge Crescent/Seaforth Drive, Waltham Cross from its junction with High Street north westwards for a distance of approximately 121m.

An alternative route will be via A1010 (High Street/Monarchs Way), A121 (Monarchs Way/Winston Churchill Way), Sturlas Way, Park Lane, Raglan Avenue, Dumbarton Avenue, Berkley Avenue and Seaforth Drive or via A1010 (High Street/Monarchs Way), A121 (Monarchs Way/Winston Churchill Way), Sturlas Way, Park Lane, Raglan Avenue, Cameron Drive and Lodge Crescent.

11. that length of Lodge Crescent, Waltham Cross from a point 75 metres north west of its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 23m.

An alternative route will be via A1010 (High Street/Monarchs Way), A121 (Monarchs Way/Winston Churchill Way), Sturlas Way, Park Lane, Raglan Avenue, Cameron Drive and Lodge Crescent.

12. that length of Cannons Meadow, Tewin from its junction with Lower Green south eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

13. that length of Orchard Road/Upper Green, Tewin from its junction with Harmer Green Lane south eastwards to its junction with Upper Green Road, a distance of approximately 1645m.

An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road, B1000 Hertford Road, Churchfield Road, School Lane, Lower Green and Upper Green Road.

14. that length of Beaumont View, Cheshunt from its junction with Pear Tree Walk north eastwards to its junction with Appleby Street, a distance of approximately 92m.
An alternative route will be via Pear Tree Walk, Highfield Road and Appleby Street.

ADDITIONALLY the existing one way traffic system on that length of Lodge Crescent, Waltham Cross from a point 75 metres north west of its junction with High Street clockwise to its junction with Seaforth Drive, a distance of approximately 340 metres will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BOURNE LANE, MUCH HADHAM) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bourne Lane, Much Hadham from its junction with B1004 Widford Road south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 197m (“the Roads”).

An alternative route will be via B1004 (Widford Road/Tower Hill/High Street/ Winding Hill/Great Hadham Road), Aerodrome Road, 3U42 (unnamed road), 3U41 (unnamed road) and Bourne Lane.
The Order is needed because tree works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WARE, HERTFORD, PUCKERIDGE, CHESHUNT AND HODDESDON) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Presdales Drive, Ware from its junction with Hoe Lane south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Post Wood Road, a distance of approximately 519m.
An alternative route will be via Hoe Lane, A119 London Road and A1170 London Road.

2. that length of Peters Wood Hill, Ware from its junction with Presdales Drive south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Post Wood Road, Ware from its junction with A1170 London Road south westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via A1170 London Road, A119 London Road and Hoe Lane.

4. that length of B1000 Welwyn Road, Hertford from its junction with Elizabeth Close south eastwards to its junction with the Thieves Lane South roundabout, a distance of approximately 95m.

An alternative route will be via B1000 (Welwyn Road/Hertford Road/ Waterside), A1000 Mundells, B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/ Birchall Lane), A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road), A119 (Cross Lane/North Road) and B1000 Welwyn Road.

5. the B1000 Welwyn Road roundabout, Hertford from its junction with Thieves Lane South clockwise for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via B1000 (Welwyn Road/Hertford Road/ Waterside), A1000 Mundells, B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/ Birchall Lane), A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road), A119 (Cross Lane/North Road) and B1000 Welwyn Road.

6. that length of B1000 Welwyn Road, Hertford from its junction with the B1000 Welwyn Road roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Windsor Drive, a distance of approximately 56m.

An alternative route will be via B1000 (Welwyn Road/Hertford Road/ Waterside), A1000 Mundells, B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/Birchall Lane), A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road), A119 (Cross Lane/ North Road) and B1000 Welwyn Road.

7. that length of Thieves Lane South, Hertford from its junction with the B1000 Welwyn Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with Turpins Close, a distance of approximately 180m.

An alternative route will be via B1000 Welwyn Road, A119 (North Road/ Cross Lane), A414 Hertingfordbury Road and Thieves Lane South or via B1000 (Welwyn Road/Hertford Road/Waterside), A1000 Mundells. B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/Birchall Lane), A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road) and Thieves Lane South.

8. that length of High Street, Puckeridge from its junction with Station Road south westwards to its junction with Cambridge Road, a distance of approximately 342m.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 Buntingford Road, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A120 Standon Hill and Cambridge Road.

9. that length of High Street, Puckeridge from its junction with Station Road north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Mentley Lane East, a distance of approximately 300m.

An alternative route will be via Station Road, South Road, A120 Standon Hill, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, B1368 Buntingford Road and Buntingford Road.

10. that length of Highfield Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Appleby Street south westwards to its junction with Spencer Avenue, a distance of approximately 140m.

An alternative route will be via Appleby Street, Holbeck Lane, Adamsfield, Longfield Lane, Dig Dag Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Oaklands Road and Spencer Avenue.

11. that length of Spencer Avenue, Cheshunt from its junction with Mountview Road north westwards for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via Mountview Road, Appleby Street, Holbeck Lane, Adamsfield, Longfield Lane, Dig Dag Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Maycroft Road, Pear Tree Walk and Highfield Road.

12. that length of Oaklands Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Hammondstreet Road north eastwards to its junction with Spencer Avenue, a distance of approximately 117m.

An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Maycroft Road, Pear Tree Walk, Highfield Road and Spencer Avenue or via Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, Adamsfield, Holbeck Lane, Appleby Street, Mountview Road and Spencer Avenue.

13. that length of Bridleway, Hoddesdon from its junction with the A1170 Ware Road/Plomer Avenue roundabout eastwards for a distance of approximately 92m.

An alternative route will be via A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway South or via A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway North.

14. that length of Bridleway South, Hoddesdon from its junction with the Bridleway/Bridleway North roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Dymokes Way, a distance of approximately 77m.

An alternative route will be via Bridleway, A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway South.

15. that length of Bridleway North, Hoddesdon from its junction with the Bridleway/Bridleway South roundabout north westwards and northwards to its junction with Beyers Prospect, a distance of approximately 63m.

An alternative route will be via Bridleway, A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway North.

16. the Bridleway/Bridleway South roundabout, Hoddesdon from its junction with Bridleway North clockwise for a distance of approximately 128m.

An alternative route will be via Bridleway, A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway South or via Bridleway, A1170 Ware Road, Middlefield Road, Stanstead Road and Bridleway North.

17. that length of Farquhar Street, Hertford from its southernmost junction with Byde Street south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Duncombe Road, a distance of approximately 237m.

An alternative route will be via Byde Street, Wellington Street, Nelson Street, Molewood Road, Beane Road, A119 North Road, North Road, St Andrew Street, B158 (Old Cross/Cowbridge/Port Hill/Bengeo Street), Cross Road and Duncombe Road.

18. that length of Byde Street, Hertford from its junction with Wellington Street north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Duncombe Road, a distance of approximately 305m.

An alternative route will be via Wellington Street, Nelson Street, Molewood Road, Beane Road, A119 North Road, North Road, St Andrew Street, B158 (Old Cross/Cowbridge/Port Hill/Bengeo Street), Cross Road and Duncombe Road or via Wellington Street, Nelson Street, Molewood Road, Beane Road, A119 North Road, North Road, St Andrew Street, B158 (Old Cross/Cowbridge/Port Hill/Bengeo Street), Cross Road, Duncombe Road, Church Road, Elton Road and Fanshawe Street.

19. that length of Fieldings Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Cadmore Lane north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BENINGTON PUBLIC BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC NO.013) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using Benington Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.013 from its junction with Duck Lane north eastwards to its junction with Benington Public Bridleway No.016, a distance of approximately 396 metres (the Public Byway Open to All Traffic), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties on this Public Byway Open to All Traffic will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Public Byway Open to All Traffic whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Byway Open to All Traffic.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2023 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Byway Open to All Traffic.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Church Road, Little Berkhamsted from its junction with Robins Nest Hill south westwards, north westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 123m.

An alternative route will be via Robins Nest Hill, B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/ unnamed road/Low Road/Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill/Kentish Lane), Woodfield Lane, Tylers Causeway and C54 (unnamed road).

2. that length of Throcking Lane, Throcking from its junction with A507 Baldock Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 150m.

An alternative route will be via A507 Baldock Road, A10 Buntingford Bypass, Cottered Road and Throcking Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ashendene Road, Bayford from its junction with White Stubbs Lane north eastwards to its junction with Bucks Alley, a distance of approximately 645m (“the Roads”).

An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, Baas Hill, Bell Lane, A1170 (High Road/High Street/Charlton Way/Dinant Link Road/Amwell Street), B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road), A414 (London Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 (Hale Road/Pegs Lane/Bullocks Lane/Horns Mill Road), Brickendon Lane, Brickendon Green, Bayford Road and Ashendene Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak from its junction with Argent Way south westwards to its junction with Malaya Farm, a distance of approximately 170m (“the Roads”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Crouch Lane, Rags Lane, St James Road, Newgatestreet Road and Crouch Lane.

The Order is needed because ground investigation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 May 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COCK LANE, BRICKENDON) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cock Lane, Brickendon from its junction with White Stubbs Lane north westwards and northwards for a distance of approximately 256m (“the Roads”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, Woodhouse Lane, Pembridge Lane and Cock Lane.
The Order is needed because tree cutting works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 April 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A414 LONDON ROAD AND THE CENTRAL RESERVATION GAP SITUATED ON A414 LONDON ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the southbound carriageway of A414 London Road, Hertford from its junction with the A414 Gascoyne Way/A119 Ware Road roundabout south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A414 Rush Green Link/B1197 London Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 814m.

An alternative route will be via A119 (Ware Road/Hertford Road/London Road), A1170 (London Road/Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill), A10 (Amwell Link Road/ unnamed road) and A414 Rush Green Link.

2. the central reservation gap situated on A414 London Road, Hertford from its junction with Mangrove Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 31m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 April 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 3U40 (UNNAMED ROAD), WELLPOND GREEN) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of 3U40 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green from a point in line with the eastern boundary of Ashley House south westwards for a distance of approximately 65m (“the Roads”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via 3U40 (unnamed road), Chapel Lane, The Ford, C15 (unnamed road), Bromley Lane and 3U40 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 April 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hillside Lane, Stanstead Abbotts from its northernmost junction with Hillside Crescent south eastwards for a distance of approximately 53m (“the Roads”).
An alternative route will be via Hillside Crescent.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 April 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1004 Great Hadham Road, Much Hadham from its junction with Danebridge Road south eastwards and north eastwards to its westernmost junction with Aerodrome Road, a distance of approximately 710m (“the Roads”).

An alternative route will be via B1004 (Great Hadham Road/Winding Hill/ High Street/Tower Hill/Widford Road/Medcalf Hill/High Street), B180 (Hunsdon Road/Widford Road/High Street/Stanstead Road/Hunsdon Road), B181 (Roydon Road/High Street/Station Road), A414 (Eastwick Road/Fifth Avenue/Edinburgh Way), A1184 (Cambridge Road/Harlow Road/Bonks Hill/ London Road/Cambridge Road/London Road/St James Way) and B1004 Great Hadham Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 April 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council.
