Palliser Road - Temporary Road Closure For Cinch Championships Tournament Tennis Event

What is happening?

The Hammersmith and Fulham
(Cinch Championships Tournament) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

1. The Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate the Cinch Championships Tournament tennis event, it intends to make an Order the effect of which would prohibit vehicular traffic, suspend sections of parking bays, extend Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) D and H operational hours within part of the existing boundaries of CPZ D and H, and introduce one way traffic flow systems in sections of roads as listed in the articles to this notice.

2. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in Palliser Road, between the northwestern kerb line of Comeragh Road and its south-eastern extremity.
3. An alternative route for traffic in article 2 would not be required.

4. Whilst temporary works are in progress or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed in order to facilitate the event build/breakdown works, the one-way traffic flow system which operates in Palliser Road between Margravine Gardens and Barton Road shall be suspended.

5. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in Palliser Road, between its junctions with Comeragh Road and its junction with Barton Road other than in a northerly direction;

6. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in Comeragh Road between its junctions with Palliser Road and Gledstanes Road;

7. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in Perham Road between its junctions with St Andrews Road and its south-western extremity;

8. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in Gledstanes Road between its junctions with Perham Road and Fairholme Road;

9. During the event or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, the waiting restrictions on both sides of the access road between Barons Court Road and Comeragh Road adjacent to No. 2 Comeragh Road and in operation Monday - Friday 9am-5pm will be extended to be in operation At any time.

10. During the event or whilst works are in progress or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, the permitted hours of the existing Controlled Parking Zone D would be extended from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to 9am to 7pm Monday to Sunday in Greyhound Road (from its junction with Star Road to its junction with Musard Road), Star Road (from its junction with St Andrew's Road to its junction with Vereker Road), Barons Court Road, Barton Road, Palliser Road, Comeragh Road, Gledstanes Road, Vereker Road, Challoner Street, Castletown Road, Charleville Road, Fairholme Road, Perham Road, St Andrew's Road, Margravine Gardens, Challoner Crescent and St Dunstan's Road between its junction with Margravine Road and its northern extremity.

11. During the event or whilst works are in progress or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, the permitted hours of the existing Controlled Parking Zone H would be extended from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to 9am to 7pm Monday to Sunday in Musard Road.

12. During the event or whilst works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to stop, wait, load or unload in:-
(a) Palliser Road, its south-western kerb line, from its southern extremity, northwards to the common boundary of Nos. 7 and 9 Palliser Road;

(b) Palliser Road, its north-eastern kerb line, from its southern extremity, northwards to a point 12.00 metres north of its junction with the northern kerb line of Comeragh Road;

(c) Comeragh Road, its south-eastern kerb line, from its junction with the north-eastern kerb line of Palliser Road, north-eastwards to its junction with south-western kerb line of Gledstanes Road;

(d) Comeragh Road, its north-western kerb line, from a point opposite the north-eastern kerb line of Palliser Road, eastwards for a distance of 10.00 metres;

(e) Comeragh Road, its south-eastern kerb line, in the disabled person's parking bay, from the common boundary of Nos. 107 and 109 Comeragh Road, south-westward for a distance of 6.00 metres;

(f) Comeragh Road, the south-eastern kerb-line, from its junction with Gledstanes Road to the common boundary of Nos. 67 and 69 Comeragh Road;
(g) Comeragh Road, the north-western kerb-line, outside Nos. 46 to 52 Comeragh Road;

(h) Gledstanes Road, the south-western kerb-line, from its junction with Comeragh Road to the common boundary of Nos. 2/4 Gledstanes Road;

(i) Gledstanes Road, the north-eastern kerb-line, from its junction with Comeragh Road to the south-eastern boundary of No. 71 Comeragh Road;

(j) Gledstanes Road, the south-western kerb-line, a section of 15.00 metres outside Barons Court Mansions

(k) Perham Road, both sides, between its junction with Gledstanes Road and its southwestern extremity
(l) Greyhound Road, the northern kerb-line, between Nos. 183 and 187 Greyhound Road

(m) Greyhound Road, the southern kerb-line, from its junction with Musard Road to the common boundary of Leighton Mansions and Kingsley Mansions

(n) Musard Road, the south-western kerb-line, from its junction with Greyhound Road to No. 1 Musard Road.

13. Between the hours of 5am-6am and 1pm-3pm lorry movements escorted along the whole of Palliser Road, may proceed in the opposite direction of on-coming traffic. The 2023 dates of these escorts are 9th May to 6th June 2023, and then 26th June to 19th July 2023.

14. Nothing in Articles 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 shall apply:
(a) in respect of any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works, or being used in connection with police, fire and ambulance purposes;
(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a duly authorised officer from the council;
(c) to vehicles requiring lawful access to adjoining premises in so far as such access is reasonably practicable without interfering with the works.

15. The Order will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

16. Works for the build/breakdown would be expected to commence on certain dates falling between 4th May and 19th July 2023. The tournament dates to which the restrictions described in the articles to this notice would apply fall between 19th and 25th June 2022. The dates specified are for guidance and informative purposes only and works may extend outside these dates.
