Closure Of Public Footpaths Nos.38 And 42 In The Community Of Llangywer - Temporary Prohibition Of Use

What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1) As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991
The Gwynedd Council (Closure Of Public Footpaths Nos.38 And 42 In The Community Of Llangywer) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use)  Order 2023
Notice Is Hereby Given that the Gwynedd Council have made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any one from causing any person to proceed in either direction along those lengths of public footpaths noted below. 
Part of Public Footpath Llangywer No. 38: From Point A (grid ref: SH 956 306) at the property Ystrad y Groes in a generally north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 1800m to Point B (grid ref: SH 965 320) where it branches to the north and to the east, approximately 160m north east of the property Gwern yr Ewig.
Part of Public Footpath Llangywer No. 42: From Point A (grid ref: SH 956 306) at the property Ystrad y Groes in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 2km to Point C (grid ref: SH 972 294) at its junction with Public Footpath Llangywer No. 43, 2km south east of Ystrad y Groes.
The Order is necessary on health and safety grounds to the public during tree harvesting works. 
Unfortunately, there are no alternative routes available during the closure period. 
The Order comes into effect on the 29th day of March, 2023 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding six months or until the work which it is proposed to carry out on the road is completed, whichever is the earlier.  If the work is not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a further period of six months with the approval of the National Assembly for Wales.  At this stage it is anticipated that the work will be completed within 22 weeks.
