What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE 

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL 

(RAILWAY DRIVE AND PIPERS ROW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along the following stretches of road on the dates and times stipulated. It is anticipated the below road closure will be in place from 20 March 2023 until 30 March 2023 (approximately): 

Railway Drive closed its entire length. Access/Egress to frontages/businesses to be maintained. It is anticipated that the below road closure/restrictions will be in place from 27 March 2023 until 31 March 2023 (approximately):  Pipers Row closed its entire length.

Tower Street closed at its junction with Pipers Row. All Parking bays suspended. Temporary suspension of one way to allow two way traffic.

Castle Street closed at its junction with Pipers Row. All Parking bays suspended. Temporary suspension of one way to allow two way traffic.

Queen Street closed at its junction with Pipers Row. All Parking bays suspended. Temporary suspension of one way to allow two way traffic.

 Berry Street closed at its junction with Pipers Row. All Parking bays suspended. Temporary suspension of one way to allow two way traffic.

Market Street bus gate suspension to allow for diversion of traffic.

Princess Street temporary suspension of pedestrian zone to allow for diversion of traffic 

The vehicle diversion routes are: Bilston Street, St Georges Parade, Garrick Street, Market Street, Princess Street and Lichfield Street; and Bilston Street, St Georges Parade, Garrick Street, Market Street, Princess Street, Princes Square, Broad Street and Ring Road.

The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing by Midland Metro Alliance.
