PUBLIC NOTICE

THE Southend-On-Sea City Council TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER The Southend-On-Sea City Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Off Street Parking Places) (INCREASED CHARGES) (VARIOUS AMENDMENTS) AMENDMENT NO. X ORDER 2023 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southend-on-Sea City Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 32, 33, 35 and 44 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act hereby give notice that it proposes the following.

Southend-on-Sea City Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 32, 33, 35 and 44 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act hereby give notice that it proposes the following.

- Increase off-street parking charges;

- Introduce parking charges for motorcycles;

- Introduce a Tradesperson Permit for use both on- and off-street, which will be in addition to the existing Tradespersons Permit for on-street only;

- Introduce a number of cashless parking spaces at Baxter Avenue Car Park;

- Introduce coach parking places at Shoebury East Beach Car Park;

- Change the closing time for University Square Car Park (shutter closing time changing to 9pm);

- Extend the chargeable period for Zone 1A, to include Monday to Sunday 8am-9pm (except Shorefield Road Car Park and Cliffs Pavilion Car Park which will remain as Monday - Sunday 8am-6pm);

- To introduce car parking charges in Zone 3 off-street pay and display (car parks), with the exception that the first hour will be designated as free parking but chargeable after that; and

- To change car parking charges in car parks within Parks & Open Spaces. The first hour will be designated as free parking but chargeable after that.

The changes to the fees and charges for off-street parking will amend the following Order:
