PROPOSALS

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council proposes to make traffic regulations to control movement, speed, waiting and loading; and intends to install/modify controlled crossings and traffic calming features with the effects detailed in the Schedules to this Notice.

SUPPORTING INFORMATION

From 24 February 2023 a copy of this Notice, copies of plans illustrating the proposals, copies of the Draft Orders, the Statutory Reasons for the proposals and copies of the Orders being amended may be inspected online at: www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/highwayconsultations and at the Customer Services Centre, St Stephen's Road, Bournemouth, BH2 6EB (by appointment only Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, email traffic@bcpcouncil.gov.uk).

REPRESENTATIONS

If you wish to make representations in support of, or in objection to, the proposals you must send them in writing, quoting reference SM2 2023 and specifying the grounds of any objection to: Traffic Team, BCP Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY or email traffic@bcpcouncil.gov.uk to arrive by 17 March 2023. Please take note that all representations received will be available for public inspection.

Traffic Movement and Speed Limit Regulations (Variation No. 2) Order 2023

No Right Turn Except Cycles (replacing No Right Turn): -

1. Durley Chine Rd: into Somerville Rd.

One Way Except Cycles (replacing One Way): -

2. Somerville Rd: from its junction with Durley Chine Rd to its junction with Durley Rd.

No Entry Except Cycles (replacing No Entry): -

3. Somerville Rd: at its junction with Durley Rd into Somerville Rd 20mph Speed Limit Zone: -

4. Commercial Rd (spur): from its easternmost junction with Poole Hill to its junction with West Hill Rd.

5. Durley Rd: from its junction with West Hill Rd to its junction with Hahnemann Rd.

6. Poole Hill (spur): from its junction with Commercial Rd to its northern junction with Poole Hill.

7. Somerville Rd: its entire Length.

8. West Hill Rd: from its junction with Poole Hill/ Poole Rd to its junction with South View Pl.

Notice of Intention to Install/Modify Controlled Crossings (No. 1) 2023

1. Durley Chine Rd: Puffin crossing upgraded to a Toucan crossing, between its junctions with Marlborough Rd & Somerville Rd.

2. Durley Rd: New Zebra crossing, immediately north of its junction with Somerville Rd.

Notice of Intention to Install Traffic Calming Features (No. 1) 2023

1. Durley Rd, 50m north of its junction with Hahnemann Rd: pair of 75mm high speed cushions, 1.9m long, 1.75m wide.

2. Durley Rd, immediately north its junction with Somerville Rd (at Zebra crossing location): 75mm high flat top road hump (raised table), across the full width of the carriageway, 6m long.

3. Somerville Rd, at its junction with Durley Chine Rd: 75mm high flat top road hump (raised junction table) across the full width of the carriageway, 10m long.

4. West Hill Rd, outside Nos. 19-21a: pair of 75mm high speed cushions, 1.9m long, 1.75m wide.

5. West Hill Rd/Commercial Rd/Durley Rd junction: 75mm high flat top road hump (raised junction table) across the full width of carriageway, extending 39m on West Hill Rd, 6m into Durley Rd & 11m into Commercial Rd.

NB. All locations in the Schedules are in the BH2/BH4 postcode areas, dimensions/measurements are approximate, road hump/speed cushion lengths include ramps.
