What is happening?

BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ("the Council") has on 22 February 2023 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when they come into operation on 27 February 2023 will introduce various changes to the waiting or parking restrictions in the part or parts of the roads identified:

BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.2 2023 (REF: TRO-24A-2022)

SCHEDULE 1 AMENDMENTS:

Zone C

Shared Permit or Pay & Display Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 9am to 8pm - Low Tariff Medium Term - 4 hours (No return within 4 hours) - Amend in:- Carlton Hill & Richmond Street

Shared Permit or Pay & Display Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 9am to 8pm - Low Tariff Long Term ll hours - Amend in:- Freshfield Road

Motorcycles Parking Places At Any Time - Amend in:- East Drive

Electric Vehicle Charging Point - Amend in:- East Drive, Freshfield Road & Richmond Street

Zone F

Streets eligible for Resident's Permit - Amend in: -Ditchling Road

Permit Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 9am to 8pm - Amend in:- Lucerne Road

Doctors Parking Places At Any Time - Remove from - Sackville Gardens

Permit Parking Places Monday to Friday - 10am to 11am & 5pm to 6pm - Amend in:- Baden Road & Natal Road

Streets eligible for Resident's Permit - Amend in:-Lewes Road, Natal Road & Saunders Park View

Permit Holder parking only from Monday to Sunday between 9am to 8pm inclusive - Remove from:- Islingword Road

Zone W

Permit Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 10am to 11am and 7pm to 8pm - Amend in:- Wish Road

Exclusive Pay & Display Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 9am to 8pm - Low Tariff Medium Term -4 hours (No return within 4 hours) - New in:-Wish Road

Zone Y

Streets eligible for Resident's Permit - Amend in: -Dyke Road

Zone Z

No Waiting Restrictions Monday to Saturday - 9am to 6pm - Amend in Upper North Street

No Loading/Unloading At Any Time - Amend in:-West Street

No Loading/Unloading Monday to Saturday -10am to 4pm - Remove from:- West Street

Permit Parking Places Monday to Sunday - 9am to 8pm - Amend in:- Queensbury Mews & Regent Hil

Motorcycles Parking Places At Any Time - New in:- Upper North Street & Remove from:- Regent Hill

Loading Bays At Any Time - Amend in:- Queensbury Mews

Streets eligible for Resident's Permit - Amend in: -West Street

Zone 10

Streets eligible for Resident's Permit - Amend in: -Ditchling Road

Modifications

Some changes to the orders as originally proposed and advertised on 15 July 2022 are as follows:-

Brighton & Hove Outer Various Controlled Parking Zones Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.2 2023

- Proposed Motorcycle Bay in Osborne Road - This has been withdrawn from the order.

- Proposed removal of Car Club Bay in Havelock Road - This has been withdrawn from the order.

- Proposed removal of Loading Bay in Preston Road - This has been withdrawn from the order

BRIGHTON & HOVE OUTER AREAS (WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING) AND CYCLE LANES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.1 2023 (REF: TRO-24B-2022)

SCHEDULE 1 AMENDMENTS:

No Waiting at Any Time - Amend in:- Bexhill Road, Brangwyn Crescent, Goldstone Crescent, Lewes Road, Manor Crescent, Tamplin Terrace & The Green (Rottingdean) New in:- Braybon Avenue, Chailey Avenue, Ditchling Road, Hawthorne Close, Heyworth Close, Hollingdean Terrace, Hornby Road, Lenham Road West, Lustrells Crescent, Newlands Road, Peacock Lane, Perry Hill, Roedale Road, Saltdean Vale & Victoria Road & Woodland Way

No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm -Amend in:- Victoria Road

Taxi Rank At Any Time - Remove in:- Tongdean Lane

Loading bay At Any Time - New in: Tongdean Lane, Valley Drive (The Parade) and Remove in:-Lewes Road

Loading Only Monday to Saturday 6am to 6pm 1 hour (No return within 30 minutes) - New in:-Lewes Road

Modifications

Some changes to the orders as originally proposed and advertised on 15 July 2022 are as follows:-Brighton & Hove Outer Areas (Waiting, Loading and Parking) and Cycle Lanes Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.1 2023

- Proposed Double Yellow Lines in North Lane -This has been withdrawn from the order.

- Proposed Double yellow lines at Junction of Woodland Way & Braybon Avenue - The double yellow lines in Woodland Way will be reduced to 5 metres.

- Proposed double yellow lines in Braybon Avenue at Junction with Old Farm Road - These have been reduced from 19 metres to 16 metres.

A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
