North Road, Yate - Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles Connection With Openreach Works

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(North Road, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of North Road which extends from Badminton Road northwards for 200m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with Openreach works. The order became operative from 11 March 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between the hours of 7pm and 6am. Alternative route: A432, A4059, Stover Road, B4059, Yate Road, Armstrong Way, North Road and vice versa.

(Highwood Lane, Patchway) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has suspended, temporarily, the bus lane in that length of Highwood Lane which extends from a point 40m east of the roundabout junction with Pegasus Road/Lysander Road south eastwards for 35m to Pegasus Road. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with telecommunications works. The order became operative from 6 March 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 
The measures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between the hours of 9pm and 4am.

(Public Footpath Dighton Gate to Tybalt Way, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath Dighton Gate to Tybalt Way which extends from a point 50m south of Ratcliffe Drive generally westwards for 30m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with electricity supply alteration works. The order will be operative from 27 March 2023 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: Dighnton Gate, Ratcliffe Drive and vice versa 

(A420 London Road, Wick) (Temporary Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles over 18 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has prohibited, temporarily, any heavy commercial vehicle with a maximum gross weight limit in excess of 18 tonnes from proceeding in that length of A420 London Road which extends from A4175 Bath Road to A46. Exemptions in the notice will permit any heavy commercial vehicle the maximum gross weight which exceeds 18 tonnes to be used for the conveyance of goods or merchandise to or from premises situated on or adjacent to the length of road; in connection with any building operation or demolition; to proceed to or from any premises situation on or accessible only from that length of road; agricultural purposes; abnormal load vehicles; the removal of any obstruction to traffic; the maintenance of the road or services therein; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties and for fire brigade, police or ambulance services. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon A36 Cleveland Bridge works and structure monitoring, Bath; to protect communities in the vicinity of the A420. The order became operative from 4 March 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The prohibition however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 12 month duration. Alternative route: A46, M4 Junction 18, M4 Junction 19, M32, A4174 Ring Road and vice versa.

(High Street Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) (Temporary Suspension of One Way Traffic) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and; b) suspend, temporarily, when the signs are covered, the one way traffic working in the length any vehicle proceeding in the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. Access will be maintained for vehicles necessarily proceeding to property with off street parking that is accessible only from the restricted length of road. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with public realm improvement works. The order will be operative from 20 March 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 11 months duration, between the hours of 6pm and 6am. For alternative route see Schedule 3. Schedule 1 – Closure High Street – that length which extends from its junction with Castle Street to its junction with Midland Way; Schedule 2 – One Way Suspension High Street – that length which extends from its junction with Castle Court to its junction with The Close. Schedule 3 – Alternative Route Midland Way, Rock Street, Quaker Lane, The Plain and vice versa.

In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
