What is happening?
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 - SECTION 90A
ROAD HUMPS - VARIOUS ROADS, LEICESTER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leicester City Council (“the Council”) proposes to install road humps under Section 90A of the Highway Act 1980 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with the Act.
The effect of this Order will be to introduce road humps on the streets listed below: -
ABBEY GATE
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Woodgate. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 19 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
BONCHURCH STREET
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Fosse Road North. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 6 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
BUCKMINSTER ROAD
1. Introduce a road hump 7 metres north west of its junction with Blackbird Road. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 6 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
2. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Buckminster Service Road North.
The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 5 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
CENTRAL ROAD
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Fosse Road North. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 6 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
COLWELL ROAD
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Buckminster Road. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 7 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
MEDINA ROAD
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Groby Road. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 9 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
NORTH BRIDGE PLACE
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Frog Island. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 8 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
PINGLE STREET
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of its junction with Northgate Street. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 9 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.
WOODGATE
1. Introduce a road hump at the mouth of the access to the Aldi supermarket. The road hump will have a height of 100 millimetres, a length of 8 metres, and cover the full width of the carriageway.

OBJECTIONS to the proposed amendments should be sent in writing to Mr James Spencer on james.spencer@leicester.gov.uk. Objections must state the grounds on which they are made and must be received by Friday 17th March 2023.
