Pedestrian Crossing - Frog Island, Woodgate - Proposes To Amend Pedestrian Crossing Facilities
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 23
PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - FROG ISLAND, WOODGATE, LEICESTER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leicester City Council(“the Council”) proposes to amend pedestrian crossing facilities under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with the Act.
The effect of this Order will be to amend and introduce pedestrian crossing facilities on the streets listed below: -
FROG ISLAND
1. Amend the location of the existing pedestrian crossing between Slater Street and Bowmars Lane. It is proposed to be moved to between Abbey Gate and Slater Street, with a controlled zone from a point 32 metres north-west of its junction withSlater Street to a point 76 metres north-west of its junction with Slater Street
2. Introduce a new pedestrian crossing between North Mills and Slater Street, with a controlled zone from a point 30 metres north-west of its junction with North Mills to a point 8 metres south-east of its junction with North Mills. This controlled zone extends onto Northgate Street.
WOODGATE
1. Amend the location of the existing pedestrian crossing between Bassett Street and Dunton Street. It is proposed to be moved to between Marshall Street and Bassett Street, with acontrolled zone:
a. On the north side, from a point opposite the east side of its junction with Marshall Street to a point opposite the west side of its junction with Bassett Street
b. On the south side, from its junction with Bassett Street to a point 25 metres west of its junction with Bassett Street
