What is happening?

The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City)
(Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and
(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area)
(Amendment No.51) Order 202*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Chelmsford City Council acting on behalf of the South Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an agreement dated 31 March 2011 (and subsequently varied by Deed of Variation on 15 June 2011 and 27 July 2012) proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To revoke and introduce parking restrictions on the following lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified below.

1. To revoke all parking restrictions in the service area of Barrack Square located to the rear of Nos.51-66 High Street and north of Stonebridge Walk and implement ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ within the whole of the above service area, which covers the public highway. TILE: TL705 065 Rev 0 to Rev 1

2. This Proposed Order may be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting tile number TL705 065 Rev 0 to Rev 1.

All associated documents for the proposed schemes are available online at www.chelmsford.gov.uk/parking. Hard copies are available for inspection at Chelmsford City Council, Civic Centre, Duke Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1JE, Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order or write in support of it you should either send an e-mail to trafficreg@chelmsford.gov.uk or write to the undersigned stating the reasons for your objection or support by 17th March 2023. Any such representations will be taken into account by the Council with the result that they may be made available to the public under sections 100A-100K & Schedule 12 of the Local Government Act 1972 if and when a report is made to the South Essex Parking Partnership Sub Committee.
