Temporary Prohibition of Motor Vehicles at Schools Order 2023

On 15 February 2023 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle,

other than those displaying a valid CFZ Permit, to enter or proceed on that length of: Park Lane, Blantyre (within the vicinity of St Joseph’s Primary School) – the whole length, from the extended north-west kerbline of Station Road, a distance of 230 metres or thereby – during the hours of 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.15pm; Birkenbraes Road, Blantyre (within the vicinity of St Joseph’s Primary School) – the whole length, from the extended north kerbline of Park Lane, to its junction with Ennisfree Road, a distance of 90 metres or thereby – during the hours of 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.15pm; Ennisfree Road,

Blantyre (within the vicinity of St Joseph’s Primary School) – the whole Length – from the extended east kerbline of Birkenbraes Road, a distance of 118 metres or thereby – during the hours of 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.15pm; and Glenlui Avenue, Rutherglen (within the vicinity of Burnside Primary School) – the whole length, from the extended north kerbline of Blairbeth Road, a distance of 117 metres or thereby – during the hours of 8.30am to 9.15am and 2.30pm to 3.15pm. This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 12.01am on 15 March 2023 and will remain in operation until midnight on 15 September 2024.
