What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council has made the City of Salford (Ashbourne Road, Austen Road, Barton Lane, Cecil Road, Fairless Road, Gaskell Road, Pleasant Road, Trafford Road, Barton & Winton)(Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2023 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to introduce - No Waiting At Any Time on: Barton Lane, north west side (i) From 10m north east from Pleasant Road to 10m south west Pleasant Road; (ii) From 10m north east from Cecil Road to 10m south west from Cecil Road (iii) from 10m north east from Ashbourne Road to 10m south west from Ashbourne Road (iv) from 10m north east from Gaskell Road to 10m south west from Gaskell Road (v) from 10m north east from Austen Road to 10m south west from Austen Road (vi) from 10m north east from Fairless Road to 10m south west from Fairless Road Ashbourne Road, both sides, 

(i) from Trafford Road for 5m in a south easterly direction (ii) from Barton Lane for 5m in a north westerly direction Austen Road, both sides, from Barton Lane for 6m in a north westerly direction Cecil Road, both sides (i) from Trafford Road for 5m in a south easterly direction (ii) from Barton Lane for 5m in a north westerly direction Fairless Road, north east side, from Trafford Road for 10m in a south easterly direction Fairless Road, south west side, from Trafford Road for 8m in a south easterly direction Fairless Road, both sides, from Barton Lane for 10m in a north westerly direction Gaskell Road, north east side, from Barton Lane for 7m in a north westerly direction Gaskell Road, south west side, from its junction with Barton Lane for 8m in a north westerly direction Pleasant Road, both sides 

(i) from Trafford Road for 5m in a south easterly direction (ii) from Barton Lane for 5m in a north westerly direction Trafford Road, south east side (i) from 5m north east of Pleasant Road to 5m south west of Pleasant Road (ii) from 5m north east from Cecil Road to 5m south west from Cecil Road (iii) from 5m north east from Ashbourne Road to 5m south west from Ashbourne Road (iv) from 5m north east from Fairless Road to 8m south west from Fairless Road. 

The Order was made on 14 February 2023 (in a modified form, following the consideration of objections) and shall come into operation on 28 February 2023. A copy of the Order and plans are available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 14 February 2023 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
