Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice 2023
Notice Is Hereby Given that Monmouthshire County Council of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 do Hereby Order And Direct that for the purpose of the following regulations shall be observed:
1.    The Order shall come into operation on the 4th March 2023 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 4th March and 5th March 2023, operating between 20:00 – 06:00.
2.    The order is necessary for Tree Cutting works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.
3.    The effect of the order will be to temporarily close a section of A4143 Safeway to Heads of the Valleys Road (Slip Road), Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
4.    A signed diversionary route will be in place as follows: A4143 (Merthyr Road), A465, A40 and vice versa.
5.    This order may be cited as the A4143 Safeway to Heads of the Valleys Road (Slip Road), Abergavenny, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2023
6.    By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
