PROPOSED PERMANENT INTRODUCTION OF AMENDMENTS TO PARKING BAYS, "AT ANY TIME" WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS & ONE WAY WORKING TO FACILITATE MANDATORY CYCLE LANES

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 13 February 2023 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce the following measures to make permanent the temporary mandatory cycle lanes in Dingwall Road and Lansdowne Road, Croydon:

(a) To make permanent the existing temporary waiting and loading restrictions operating "at any time" in Dingwall Road (entire length) and Lansdowne Road (between Wellesley Road and the vehicular entrance to Vita Apartments, No. 1 Caithness Walk).

(b) To permanently amend/relocate parking bays as described in the Schedule 1 to this Notice.

(c) To introduce one-way working in sections of Dingwall Road, Lansdowne Road and George Street, as described in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

(d) To maintain the diagonal road closure to the Lansdowne Road / Dingwall Road roundabout between Lansdowne Rd (west) and Dingwall Rd (north).

(e) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist

on site.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 22 February 2023 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Wetherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to parking.design@croydon.gov.uk

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

SECTION 23

PROPOSED CYCLE LANE ZEBRA CROSSINGS

HIGH STREET, PARK STREET & KATHARINE STREET, CROYDON

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to introduce new cycle lane zebra crossings as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to provide safe crossing facilities and improve road safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

The general effect of the crossings would be to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians to cross the cycle lane safely.

Persons desiring to comment on the proposal should send a statement in writing to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Parking Design Team, 6th Floor Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA or by emailing parking.design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/High St. Cycle Lane Crossing by 09 March 2023.

Proposed Cycle lane Zebra Crossings

The crossing point would be sited across the cycle lane at the junction of Katharine Street and the pedestrianised section of High Street, Croydon. The crossing point would be located 5 metres north-east of the apex of the bend at the junction of the non-pedestrianised section of the High Street and Katharine Street, and extend for 4 metres north-eastwards.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 SECTION 14,

AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

SMITHAM DOWNS ROAD, PURLEY

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate sewer connection works they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Smitham Downs Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Smitham Downs Road will be closed between its junctions with The Vale and The Drive.

3. During the closure the diversion routes for traffic will be via Brighton Road, Banstead Road, Foxley Lane, Smitham Bottom Lane and reversed, or via Brighton Road, Chipstead Valley Road, Woodcote Grove Road and reversed, as appropriately signed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 20 February 2023, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 01 March 2023. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in the said works.

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

LIMPSFIELD ROAD SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS. 335 TO 351 LIMPSFIELD ROAD, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works on behalf of Openreach to clear blockages in the carriageway, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in the service road fronting Nos. 335 to 351 Limpsfield Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

(a) the service road fronting Nos. 335 to 351 Limpsfield Road will be closed between its junction with Kingswood Avenue and a point 15 metres south-east of that junction.

(b) temporary ‘At any time’ waiting and loading restrictions will be introduced in the above section of the service road outside Nos. 335 to 337 Limpsfield Road.

3. During the closure, access will be maintained by Traffic Management Officers on site.

4. The Order will come into operation on 06 March 2023, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
