Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

BOW BRIDGE, WATERINGBURY ME18 5EW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2023
To allow level crossing works and other associated works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bow Bridge, Wateringbury, on or after 27th February 2023 at 23:30, with estimated completion by 28th February 2023 at 04:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Kenward Road, B2010 High Street, Benover Road, Hampstead Lane, Maidstone Road and vice versa.

FORSHAM LANE, SUTTON VALENCE.ME17 3AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow meter replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Forsham Lane, Sutton Valence, on or after 13th March 2023, for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A274 Headcorn Road (one-side of the triangle junction), to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The road closure will be in conjunction with three-way temporary traffic signals on A274 Headcorn Road.

There is no alternative route for this closure, due to the main part of Forsham Road remaining open.

LOWER FANT ROAD, MAIDSTONE ME16 8EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow new installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Fant Road, Maidstone, on or after 13th March 2023 for up to 7 days or until the
works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 12, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order on Lower Fant Road will be temporarily suspended, to allow for diverted traffic.

The alternative route is via Lower Fant Road, Upper Fant Road, Bower Lane and vice versa.

MAIDSTONE ROAD RUN - HEART OF KENT HOSPICE ME17 4HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow the Maidstone Road Run event to be held by Heart of Kent Hospice, Kent County Council has made make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Boughton Monchelsea, Chart Sutton and Linton on 5th March 2023, or until the event has been completed.

The following roads will be closed for their entire length, between the hours of 08:00 and 12:30 only, on a rolling basis as detailed below.

To allow works to fix a burst water main, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ware Street, Bearsted, on or after 13th March 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have
been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Thurnham House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Roundwell, The Street and vice versa.

WESTMORLAND ROAD, MAIDSTONE. ME15 8AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Westmorland
Road, Maidstone, on or after 13th March 2023 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Northumberland Road and Wiltshire Way, to the extent  indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Westmorland Road, Willington Street, Northumberland Road and vice versa.

WHITE HORSE LANE, OTHAM ME15 8FU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow bellmouth works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of White Horse Lane, Otham, on or after 13th March 2023 for up to 12 days or until the
works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Gore Court Road and Pentecost Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Gore Court Road, Buffkyn Way, A274 Sutton Road, New Road, Honey Lane, White Horse Lane and vice versa.

VARIOUS ROADS, MAIDSTONE (SURFACE TREATMENTS) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND TEMPORARY 20 & 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2023
To allow carriageway preservation works to be carried out as part of a Surface Treatment Scheme, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Maidstone.

This Order takes effect on or after 17th March 2023 for a period of up to 18 months or until works have been completed. It may be necessary for some of the roads to be closed for multiple occasions for each phase of the works. Planned dates will be published in advanced of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

After the Surface Treatment works, a temporary speed limit of 40 & 20 mph may need to be imposed in place on certain roads for a period of up to 7 days. Where the 40 & 20 mph Speed Limit does apply, this will be clearly
indicated by relevant signs displayed on site.

These works are subject to weather and other factors which may potentially cause changes at short notice; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the planned dates that are notified, and any changes will be publicised.

The road will be closed between the junctions with A20 Ashford Road and Marley Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Marley Road, Church Road, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Marley Road / Dickley Lane, Harrietsham

The roads will be closed between the junctions with Marley Works and Stede Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Dickley Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Ulcombe Road (Tilden Road), Headcorn
The road will be closed between the junctions with Tattlebury Lane and Crumps Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Ulcombe Road, Lenham Road, Eastwood Road, Pye Corner, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

Crumps Lane, Ulcombe
The road will be closed between the junctions with Headcorn Road and Lenham Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lenham Road, Eastwood Road, Pye Corner, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

Hogbarn Lane, Harrietsham
The road will be closed between the junctions with Ringlestone Road and Stede Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Penenden Heath Road, Maidstone

The road will be closed between the junctions with Northumblerland Road and St Saviours Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Pattenden Lane, Marden
The road will be closed between the junctions with West End and Underlyn Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Underlyn Lane and B2079 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

Grigg Lane, Headcorn
The road will be closed between the junctions with Oak Lane and Lancaster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Oak Lane, Forge Lane, Lenham Road, Southernden Road and Grigg Lane and vice versa.

Pagehurst Road, Staplehurst & Part of Marden Thorn
The roads will be closed between the junctions with Marden Thorn and Marden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Wilden Park Road, Five Oak Lane, Pinnock Lane, A229 Cranbrook Road, Staplehurst High Street, Marden Road and Pagehurst Road and vice versa.

Sherenden Lane, Marden
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2079 Goudhurst Road and Wilden Park Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Wilden Park Road, Curtisden Green Lane, Winchet Hill and Goudhurst Road and vice versa.

Sheneley Road, Headcorn
The road will be closed from the junction with A274 Biddenden Road to just past White House Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A229 Biddenden Road, Smarden Bell Road and Shenley Road and vice versa.

West Street (Hunton Hill), Hunton
The road will be closed from the junction with East Street to the entrance gates to South Lodges, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hunton Hill, Upper Hunton Hill, Heath Road,Ewell Lane, Smiths Hill,,Yalding Hill, Vicarage Road and West Street and vice versa.

Grave Lane, Staplehurst / Marden
The road will be closed between the junctions with Clapper Lane and Summerhill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Summerhill Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, Maidstone Road and Clapper Lane and vice versa.

Southernden Road, Headcorn
The road will be closed between the junctions with Lenham Road and Grigg Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst

The road will be closed between the junctions with Jarmons Lane and Emmett Hill Lane and between the junctions with The Old Forge to Darman Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Jarmons Lane, B2162 Benover Road, Lees Road, Laddingford, Claygate Road and vice versa.

High Street, Lenham
The road will be closed from the junction with Maidstone Road / Lenham Sqaure to the Railway Station, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers
on site.

The alternative route is via Faversham Road, A20 Ashford Road, East Street, Sandway Road, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

Farleigh Lane, Maidstone
The road will be closed from the junction with Gatland Lane to past the junction with Rectory Lane (Entrance to Little Fant Farm), to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Farleigh Lane, A20 Tonbridge Road, Terrace Road, London Road, The Broadway, St Peters Bridge,
Fairmeadow, Bishops Way, Palace Avenue, Lower Stone Street, Sheals Crescent, Old Tovil Road, Tovil Road Tovil Hill, Farleigh Hill, Dean Street, Lower Road, Station Road, Farleigh Bridge, and Farleigh Lane.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Farleigh Lane, Farleigh Bridge, Station Road, Lower Road, Dean Street, Farleigh Hill, Tovil Hill, Tovil Road, College Road, Mill Street, Bishops Way, The Broadway and A20 Tonbridge Road.

Frittenden Road, Staplehurst
The road will be closed between the junctions with Park Wood Lane and A229 High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Staplehurst Road, Headcorn Road, Water Lane, Moat Lane, Summerhill, Four Oaks Road, Hawkenbury Road, Headcorn Road, A229 High Street and vice versa

Speed Restrictions
It will be necessary to impose a 40 mph speed limit on the approach to, and then a 20 mph speed limit through, working sites on various roads in Maidstone, as detailed below.
