Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, THE DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY)
(20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS)
AMENDMENT No.20
ORDER 2023
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL propose to make the above named Order under sections under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The effect of the Order will be to reduce the 30mph to 20mph on the following length of road in Whitstable, Canterbury:
TANKERTON ROAD - From its junction with St Annes Road to its junction with Pier Avenue.
A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined at Kroner House, Eurogate Business Park, Ashford, Kent TN24 8XU by appointment booked through tro@kent.gov.uk or viewed online from 24 February at www.kent.gov.uk/highwaysconsultations
Representations supporting or objecting to the proposed Order (your objection must explain the impact on traffic in the locality to be valid) can be made via our website using the above link or alternatively you can write to The Senior Parking & Traffic Regulation Officer, Kroner House, Traffic Management Team, Highways & Transportation, Eurogate Business Park, Ashford, Kent TN24 8XU by 12 noon Monday 20 March 2023.

ORDER 2022
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.The effect of the Order would be to reduce the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Bean Village, Dartford:-
ASHWOOD PLACE, BEACON DRIVE, BRAMBLE AVENUE, DRUDGEON WAY, FALLOWFIELD, FOXWOOD ROAD, HIGH STREET, PAGE CLOSE, SCHOOL LANE, STONEWOOD, THE THRIFT and TURNER ROAD – For their entire length. BEAN LANE – From its junction with Beacon Drive for a distance of 66 metres in a northerly direction. SANDY LANE – From a point 55 metres south of its junction with School Lane in a northerly direction to the extremity of the highway. SHELLBANK LANE - From its junction with High Street to a point in line with the south boundary of Ivy Cottage. SOUTHFLEET ROAD – From its junction with High Street to a point 119 metres south of its junction with School Lane.
BEAN LANE – Will remain 30MPH from a point 66 metres north of its junction with Beacon Drive to its junction with the Watling Street Roundabout.
The Order was made on 23 February 2023 and its provisions will come into effect on 24 February 2023.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
