What is happening?

Traffic Order Proposals Botley Bypass Speed Limits, Various Roads Restricted Roads And 40 Miles Per Hour

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council ("the Council") proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1,2,4,5 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to impose a 40 miles per hour speed limit and to designate certain lengths of road as restricted roads as follows: Restricted Roads (i)Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) between a point approximately 94 metres south-west of its junction with B3354 Winchester Road / B3354 Winchester Street and a point approximately 11 metres north-east of its roundabout junction with Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane). (ii)Access Road 2 between a point approximately 26 metres north-west of its roundabout junction with Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) and its junction with Sika Avenue. (iii)Sika Avenue (previously known as Access Road 1) between its junction with Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) and its junction with Access Road 2, i.e. its entire length. 40mph (i)Winchester Road, the entire length of the circulatory carriageway of the roundabout joining Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane), Access Road 2 and the Link Road. (ii)Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) between its junction with the roundabout joining C195 Woodhouse Lane, Access Road 2 and Link Road and a point approximately 9 metres north-east thereof. (iii)Link Road between its roundabout junction with Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) and its junction with B3354 Winchester Street, an approximate distance of 297 metres thereof. (iv)Winchester Road (former C195 Woodhouse Lane) between its roundabout junction with Access Road 2 and the Link Road and its junction with Grange Road / A334 Broad Oak, an approximate distance of 1106 metres. The Borough of Eastleigh (Woodhouse Lane, Botley) (40 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2008 will be revoked.

All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished. TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as "The Hampshire (Various Roads, Botley) (Restricted Road and 40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2023."
