Church Lane And Stradbroke Drive - Enabling Powers, Proposes To Introduce Traffic Calming Measures

What is happening?

City of Stoke-on-Trent (Traffic Regulation) (Church Lane and Stradbroke Drive) (No.1) Order, 2023 and Highways Act 1980 - Section 90 Proposed Traffic Calming - Church Lane.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Stoke-onTrent Council in exercise of its powers under Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, proposes to introduce traffic calming measures in Church Lane, Trentham. The type, location and approximate sizes of these traffic calming features are as below :-

1.Road Hump (75mm x 4900mm x Width of Carriageway) 
(i)Outside No 8 Church Lane 
(ii) A point 38m from its junction with Diarmid Rd in a westerly direction
(iii)Outside No’s 82 & 84 Church Lane 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Stoke on Trent propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 45, 46 51, 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984. The effect of this Order is as follows:-

1.To reduce the existing speed limit from 30mph to 20mph in the lengths of road specified in the first schedule below.
2.To establish Permit Parking Zone (HF1) in the lengths of road specified in the second schedule below.
3.Any residential property referred to in the fourth schedule below will be eligible to apply for permits for that respective zone.
4.To introduce limited waiting Sun -Sat 8am - 4pm, 3 hours no return within 1 hour in the lengths of road specified in the second schedule below. 
5.To introduce double yellow lines in the lengths of road specified in third schedule below.

FIRST SCHEDULE20 MPH SPEED LIMITChurch Lanefrom its junction with Mayne Street to its junction with Diarmid Road

SECOND SCHEDULELIMITED WAITING 3 HOURS NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR 8AM-4PM OR PERMIT HOLDERS (ZONE HF1) ONLY AT ALL TIMES
Church Lane(South Side)from the boundary of No. 60 to the boundary of No. 54

THIRD SCHEDULENO WAITING AT ANY TIMEStradbroke Drive(Both Sides)from its junction with Drubbery Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a south-westerly direction

FOURTH SCHEDULEPROPERTIES ELIGIBLE FOR PERMITS Church Lane - No’s 54 -60 (even)Harptree Walk - No’s 2 - 12 (even)

FIFTH SCHEDULEPERMIT CHARGESResidents Permit - £38.50Visitors Permit - 38.50 (Senior citizens issued 1 free per property) Administration Fee - £5.50
