What is happening?
Newport City Council (Transporter Bridge (Coronation Park), Newport) (Footpath Number 401/4/1) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along the entirety of footpath 401 /4/1 from its point Transporter Bridge (Coronation Park) at grid reference ST319861 to its junction with Corporation Road at grid reference ST329853, a distance of approximately 2310 metres, as shown in the plan attached.Alternative route is via Corporation Road and Stephenson Street.
The reason for making the order is to undertake a flood defence scheme on behalf of Natural Resources Wales. The proposed order will be operative from 22 February 2023 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Y rheswm dros wneud y gorchymyn vw i ymgymryd a chynllun atal llifogydd ar ran Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru. Bydd y gorchymyn arfaethedig yn weithredol o 22 Chwefror 2023 a bydd yn para mewn grym am gyfnod heb fod yn hwy na 6 mis neu hyd nes y bydd y gwaith y bwriedir ei gyflawni wedi ei gwblhau, pa un bynnag a ddaw gyntaf.
