What is happening?

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
(VARIOUS STREETS LANGLEY AREA, MIDDLETON - PHASE 3)
(20 MPH SPEED LIMIT and REVOCATION) ORDER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to:-

(i) impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the roads listed below for their entire lengths:-

(iii) Revoke:

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE (LORTON CLOSE, LANGLEY, MIDDLETON) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2007

No speed limit imposed by this Notice applies to vehicles falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with Regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

A copy of the proposed Order and a map showing the lengths of roads concerned, together with the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and a copy of the Orders to be revoked, may be viewed on the Council’s website www.rochdale.gov.uk/roads, or by phoning Highways on 0300 303 8879 to request a copy by post.

Objections to the proposed Order, stating the grounds on which they are made, must be made in writing and forwarded to trafficorders@rochdale.gov.uk or, alternatively, to Network Management, Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU to reach the Council on or before 9th March 2023, quoting H60/1385.  Dated the 16th day of February 2023
