Temporary Road Restrictions A2 Trunk Road, (Whitfield Roundabout to Duke of York's Roundabout)

A2. TRUNK ROAD (WHITFIELD ROUNDABOUT TO DUKE OF YORK'S ROUNDABOUT) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2. Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
1. the overnight closure of both carriageways between Whitfield Roundabout (A2.56) and Duke of York's Roundabout (A2.58), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway; and
2. the 24-hour closure of the lay-bys located adjacent to the length of carriageway described in 1 . above. 
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway, drainage, electrical, signage, bridge, geotechnical and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will take 6 weeks starting on or after Monday 20th February 2023. The overnight closures will take between 20:00 and 06:00 hours (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on the 18th February 2023 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closures above will be diverted using the A256, A20 and the A2. HGVs bound to or from the Port of Dover will be diverted using the M20 and the A20.
The temporary closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
