What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
PROPOSED PLAY STREET ORDER FOR PLAYSTREET SCHEMES IN BISHOP’S ROAD, W7, CLAUSON AVENUE, NORTHOLT, ST MARGARETS ROAD, W7 AND TORRINGTON GARDENS, PERIVALE
THE EALING (VARIOUS ROADS PLAYSTREET SCHEME) (NO. 4, 2016) (AMENDMENT NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 201*
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Ealing (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 29 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order would be to create play streets in:
(a) Bishop’s Road, W7, between the south-western kerb-line of Bostonthorpe Road and the north-eastern kerb-line of Churchfield Road.
(b) Clauson Avenue, Northolt, between No.26 Clauson Avenue and No. 74 Clauson Avenue
(c) St Margarets Road W7, between the south-eastern kerb-line of St Marks Road and the north-western kerb-line of St Dunstans Road
(d) Torrington Gardens, Perivale, between No.6 Torrington Gardens and No. 32 Torrington Gardens which would operate when traffic signs are in position closing these roads between these points.
The scheme called “Playstreet” would close these roads to vehicular traffic on one Saturday or Sunday each month (or such other occasions as the Council may approve) for a period of up to 3 hours to enable children to use them for play schemes. Vehicles would be able to access premises in the closed sections of street and would be escorted by a steward to reach their destination.
3. Enquiries about the proposal can be made by e-mail to trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or by telephoning the Ealing Council Project Engineer on 0208 825 7664.
4. The proposed Order, other documents including plans giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available by either e-mailing trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order.
5. Any objections or other representations about the proposed Order should be sent in writing by e-mail to trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or by post to the Highways Service, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL, quoting reference ORD 4375/djc until the 8th March 2023.
All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should state the address of the author.
