What is happening?

Telford & Wrekin Council 

(Madeley Area, Telford) (20mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 2023 

The Council gives notice that it proposes to make the following Speed Order. The Speed Limit applies to the roads in Madeley Area (Telford & Wrekin) and the general effects of the Order are to introduce a 20mph Zone where the speed limit applies to the following length(s) of road(s) described in the Schedule to this Order.

Schedule - 20mph Zone 

Anstice Road, Barkers Court, Betnell Grove, Bridle Court, Bridle Road, Bridle Terrace, Burnt Hall Lane, Church Close, Church Street, Coalport Road (From Church Street to a point 45 metres south of Laburnum Drive), Cottage Farm Close, Court Street, Hall Barn Close, Hanover Court, High Street, Ironbridge Road (From Park Lane Avenue/Bridle Road in a westerly direction for 45 metres), Joseph Rich Avenue, Laburnum Drive, Maddocks, Mason Drive, Mayfield, Meadcroft, Meadow Brook Close, Meadowlea, Mill Lane (From Station Road in a south-westerly direction for 49 metres), Milton Drive, Mitchel Way, New Road, Park Avenue, Park Lane, Park Lane Avenue, Park Street, Russell Road, South Drive, St Michaels Close, St Michaels Road, St Michaels Walk, Station Road, The Rookery, Tynsley Court, Tynsley Terrace, Upper Road, Victoria Road, Villa Court, Washbrook Lane and West View Terrace.

To revoke an existing 20mph speed limit on Park Avenue, from its junction with High Street to the mini-roundabout at the entrance to the superstore. A distance of 190m.

The purpose of the proposed Order is to reduce the speed limit to help with road safety in residential areas and road with frontage properties. 

Documents detailing the particulars of the proposed Order may be inspected from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday at any Telford and Wrekin Council office reception or library, your local Parish or Town Council office (check your local office for opening times), or at www.telford.gov.uk/TRO
