What is happening?

NOTICE OF EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER
SECTION 118 OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
DEFINITVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE EAST STAFFORDSHIRE BOROUGH

Staffordshire County Council (Extinguishment of The Entire Length of Public Bridleway 8, Branston Parish, and Part of Public Footpath 0.532(a) Branston Parish, Staffordshire.

The above Order made on the 9th February 2023 if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by extinguishing the entire length of Public Bridleway No.8 Branston Parish shown as a continuous solid black line, between point A on the map (NGR 421190, 321736) point H on the map (NGR 421645, 322251) and point B on the map (NGR 422128, 322563) and by extinguishing part of Public Footpath 0.532(a), Branston Parish, shown as a continuous solid black line, between point D on the map (NGR 421146, 322086) and point H on the map (NGR 421645, 322251).

The Order is conditional upon the Public Bridleway Creation Agreement 2023 (Land at Branston Locks Development) under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980, coming into effect. This will not be less than 28 days from the date of the publication of the notice.

A copy of the Order, the Order Map and explanatory statement may be seen free of charge at the offices of East Staffordshire Borough Council, The Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffs DE14 2EB and at Staffordshire County Council (Reception), Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford ST16 2LP during normal working hours, Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the Order and Order Map may be purchased.

Any representation or objection to the Order must be sent in writing to the Director for Corporate Services, Staffordshire County Council, Staffordshire Place 2, Tipping Street, Stafford ST1 2DH not later than 31st March 2023 quoting ref: no. DA/ZIPX024288 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. Any representation or objection may be made available to interested parties to view at the Council’s offices on request.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Staffordshire County Council instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
